The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-impact orientation and operational training programs that ensure employees meet safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role facilitates classroom and hands-on training, evaluates competency during the 90-day onboarding period, and supports the continuous improvement of training programs and materials.
This position plays a critical role in workforce readiness, standardization of procedures, and operational excellence.
Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities:
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation programs.
- Deliver classroom and on-the-floor training to new and existing employees.
- Train employees on quality standards, inspection methods, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Conduct micro-learning sessions and refresher training programs.
- Administer written tests and hands-on proficiency assessments.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and provide feedback to leadership.
- Maintain accurate and compliant training documentation and records.
- Assist in developing and updating training materials using PowerPoint and other learning tools.
- Support the consistent application of standard operating procedures across departments and shifts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to training and employee development.
- Support special projects and cross-functional training initiatives as assigned.
- Support and assist in the oversight of the Training Ambassador program

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to learn and correctly use additional measurement instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, and others as required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience delivering classroom and hands-on training in a formal or informal capacity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to different learning styles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
- Ability to keep learners engaged throughout classroom sessions
- Ability to learn and correctly use measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train employees at all organizational levels
Preferred Requirements:
- Two-year college degree in related field
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory
- Experience facilitating micro-learning or blended learning classroom sessions.
- Familiarity with skilled-based manufacturing training programs.
