In this position you will apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot machinery, robot, automation, and controls issues and downtime
- Use Factory Information Systems (FIS), plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment and follow up on project installations
- Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
- Update program backups for machinery and automation
- Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
- Review risk assessments as part of a team evaluating equipment safety
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Siemens and Modicon programming
- Independently troubleshoot all equipment and continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
- Work with PLC/Computer Numerical Control (CNC) – Siemens
- Work with ABB robot
- Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products
- 1+ year of Controls Engineering experience (can include co‑op or internships)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred)
- Electrical background (electrician or technician) (preferred)
- Familiarity with VFD, servo, Profinet
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
- TQM and Kaizen methods experience
- MEA, PPAP, and DOE experience
- Visual Factory Management experience

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
