The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in aeropropulsion, space propulsion, and power test facilities. We are currently seeking an Instrument Maker Technician Apprentice. This entry-level position will train under journeyman‑level technicians for a total of 8,000 hours of on‑the‑job training to meet the requirements of the State of Ohio and NASA’s Apprenticeship program.

• Train under journeyman‑level technicians for 8,000 on‑the‑job training hours to complete the State of Ohio and NASA’s Apprenticeship program.
• Learn specialized technical skills for fabrication and assembly of intricate instrumentation hardware used in research test facilities at the NASA Glenn Research Center.

• Currently enrolled in or have successfully completed a two‑year associate degree program in Precision Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited technical college.
• Willing to complete 8,000 hours of on‑the‑job training as part of the Apprenticeship program.
• Demonstrate competency throughout the program to qualify for ongoing employment.
• Able to communicate and work well in a team environment.
• Capable of following directions and utilizing time efficiently for maximum productivity on assigned tasks.
• Safety‑conscious at all times.
