HX5, LLC is seeking an individual for its Materials Engineering department to augment the development and construction of high efficiency solar cells for nascent space applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for process development, optimization, device Integration, architecture, characterization, analysis, scale-up, yield Improvement, and laboratory operating procedures for the development of photovoltaic cells.

Required Skills:

* Experience with the film deposition techniques of evaporation, sputtering, and reactive CVD.

* Experience fabricating and testing solar cells with novel materials including thin film silicon, perovskite solar cells, and III-V's specifically GaAs.

* Practical knowledge related to the manufacturing limitations of solar cells using novel materials.
Other Desired

Skills:

* Familiarity with techniques such as solar simulation, quantum efficiency, hall measurements, current vs voltage, capacitance vs voltage, and microscopy.

* Experience with high vacuum and vacuum based deposition techniques.

* Strong technical report writing skills.
Education/

Experience:

* Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering with up to 5 years of experience.
