- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treating wounds, and performing various medical procedures.
- Supervise and direct the activities of assigned STNAs, ensuring that they provide high-quality care to residents.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct daily rounds to ensure that residents are receiving high-quality care and to identify any areas for improvement.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor resident conditions and report changes or concerns to the Nurse Supervisor and/or Unit Manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve the overall quality of care provided to residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that care is coordinated and resident needs are met.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Supporting team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
