Responsibilities
  • Drive a non-commercial vehicle from point to point safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
  • Load and unload unit, either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight.
  • Securing of freight may be required through strapping or other methods.
  • Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
  • Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation/handling of Hazardous Materials.
  • Driver non‑CDL trucks in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, normally in periods of driving within hours of service limitations, followed by an off‑duty period as required by regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 1 year verifiable experience driving a non‑commercial motor vehicle similar to the type utilized by US CARGO.
  • Drivers are required to authorize US CARGO to obtain a current motor vehicle record (MVR) and safety performance history from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). MVR will be reviewed at least annually.
  • Must pass a US CARGO driving test administered by an approved US CARGO trainer or designee.
  • With exception of Non‑CDL Drivers, must have a hazardous material and tank endorsement or obtain said endorsement within 90 days of employment on their current valid driver’s license issued by the State in which they reside.
  • Must possess only one valid driver’s license issued by the State in which the driver resides. If moved from another State, must provide the former license or verify it with that State. Drivers must update their address with the Department of Motor Vehicles within 30 days and provide a new license to the Safety Department.
  • Must have no record of a driving license suspension or revocation covering the last 36 months from any source including the MVR and any other driver performance history report.
  • Must have no record of citation or conviction for the following violations within the last 36 months: driving under influence of drugs or alcohol, violation of an “open container,” refusal to take a test, reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter, operating while under suspension or revocation (except as listed), leaving the scene of an accident, speed exhibitions, contests, or drag racing, use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony, assault with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless endangerment or road rage, operating a vehicle without owner’s permission, fleeing or eluding a police officer.
  • Must have no pattern of more than three motor vehicle violations or at‑fault traffic accidents within 36 months.
  • Must pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). examination.
  • Must consent to a pre‑employment drug screen. US CARGO must receive a negative result before the driver performs any safety sensitive function.
  • Must receive a negative controlled substance and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three years. Previous evidence of controlled substance use within three years may result in the job offer being rescinded.
  • Must consent to a ten‑year check on work history. Any gap of 30 days or more must be indicated and explained. Discrepancies may prevent the application from being processed and the job offer rescinded.
  • All roadside inspections will be reviewed through the Pre‑Employment Screening Program and other performance history reports for the past 36 months. Multiple violations may impact hiring and/or retention.
Pay Range

Starting from USD $20.59 per hour.
