Job Description:

Brookfield Public Schools is looking for an excellent Special Education Teacher to join our team at Candlewood Lake Elementary School starting the  School Year

* August 20 & 21:
New Hire Orientation

* August 24:
First Day for Current Teaching Staff

* August 27:
First Day for Students

Responsibilities(List is not all inclusive):

* Full-Time Position - includes teaching students in a highly collaborative and technology rich environment

* Designs and implements special education services for students with social-emotional needs.

* Case manages students by writing and monitoring IEPs.

* Implements and monitors behavior intervention plans.

* Collaborates with team members, including School Social Worker, School Psychologist, and Paraprofessionals.

Qualified candidates must have:

* a current and valid CT Certification (Endorsement 265, 165, 065, Comprehensive Special Education)

* experience working with elementary level children

* a desire to work with a dynamic, collaborative team;

* a willingness to grow professionally
