Long-Term Substitute School Counselor
Brookfield High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute School Counselor to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. Key responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling to students, assisting with course selection, academic planning, and goal setting, supporting student adjustment, well-being, and decision-making, collaborating with staff, families, and community resources, monitoring student progress, and assisting with post-secondary planning.
Qualified candidates must have a current and valid CT Certification (Endorsement - 068, School Counselor) and a Masters Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in School Counseling, including coursework in child, adolescent and adult psychology, nature of learning, personality development, sociology, clinical testing, administration/supervision, diagnosis and correction of learning difficulties, applied research, test construction and interpretation, curriculum design and evaluation.
Ability to communicate at all levels with students, adults, and professionals (teachers, support personnel, psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians).
Compensation: BA Step 1 of the Teachers' Contract Approximate length of assignment:
September 2026 to January 2027.
