This Lab Technician role supports the Quality Control laboratory by performing routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, final products, and stability samples. You will use established test methods and laboratory techniques to generate accurate data, maintain detailed documentation, and help ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards. Working under established procedures and guidance from Quality Control leadership, you will contribute to safe, compliant, and efficient lab operations.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, final products, and stability samples following established testing procedures accurately and efficiently.
+ Utilize analytical testing techniques such as Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), titrations, wet chemistry, and other relevant laboratory methods after appropriate training and qualification.
+ Monitor laboratory equipment and instrumentation for calibration requirements and ensure instruments are maintained and operated in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of analytical testing processes and outcomes, preparing data for review and ensuring results are recorded and archived in compliance with applicable requirements.
+ Follow departmental procedures, work instructions, test methods, SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) expectations, and site safety requirements.
+ Assist in investigating and troubleshooting analytical testing issues, collaborating with team members to identify potential root causes and communicate findings or corrective actions as needed.
+ Uphold a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and regulations.
+ Participate in safety, quality, and job-specific training programs to maintain required competencies and stay current with procedures.
+ Maintain effective communication within the Quality Control function and across other functions in the organization to support smooth workflow and issue resolution.
+ Support daily laboratory priorities including sample handling, labeling, and tracking to ensure timely testing and reporting.
+ Perform glassware cleaning, equipment cleaning, and general lab housekeeping to support efficient and compliant operations.
+ Assist with inventory tracking, reagent and supply organization, and sample disposal in alignment with established procedures.
+ Use basic computer systems for data entry, training completion, and routine recordkeeping related to QC activities.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, or equivalent relevant education.
+ 0 to 2 years of industry experience in an analytical or Quality Control laboratory environment.
+ Hands-on experience or training with Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), titrations, and wet chemistry techniques.
+ Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or cGMP principles and their application in a laboratory setting.
+ Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written instructions and accurately document all work performed.
+ Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment, including adherence to procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with housekeeping expectations.
+ Basic computer skills for data entry, completion of electronic training modules, and routine electronic recordkeeping.
+ Good communication skills with the willingness to ask questions when instructions, results, or observations are unclear.
+ Dependable team player with flexibility to support routine Quality Control laboratory needs and changing priorities.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ College coursework or prior laboratory experience beyond degree requirements is preferred.
+ Experience in analytical chemistry or QC testing using GC, UV-Vis, titrations, and wet chemistry methods.
+ Familiarity with laboratory SOPs, test methods, and documentation practices in a regulated environment.
+ Ability to assist with troubleshooting analytical testing issues and contribute to identifying root causes.
+ Organizational skills to manage multiple samples, maintain inventory, and support efficient lab workflows.
Work Environment
This role is based in a Quality Control laboratory environment that focuses on routine sample handling, basic laboratory testing, data entry, equipment cleaning, inventory support, and general lab housekeeping. Work follows established procedures and is performed under the direction of Quality Control management or designated QC personnel. You will collaborate with a small team of full-time and part-time chemists and interact regularly with other functions to support production and quality needs.
