Job OverviewShipping & Receiving Operator is responsible for accurate and efficient processing of shipments, including labeling, staging, loading and unloading trucks, receiving finished goods, raw materials and container components.
Responsibilities- Prepare orders for shipment, including accurately labeling and staging products.
- Review shipment requirements and pick products, scanning with a mobile device.
- Prepare and stage orders for shipment (e.g., shrink-wrap and corner boards).
- Apply packing slips and additional documentation needed for transportation.
- Complete and post shipments within the shipping software (D365).
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment used in the shipping process.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring all products are safely and securely stored for transport.
- Receive raw materials and finished goods, including containers, caps, closures, IBC, drums, and customer returns.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Follow FIFO inventory management practices.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures for handling and shipping goods.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bending and lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Able to work independently and with interdepartmental teams.
- Multitasking ability.
- 1–2 years of experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
