Adjunct Instructor - MSN Nursing Program
Ottawa University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the MSN Nursing Program. This position is seasonal as needed and does not require travel. The primary residency requirement is within the following states:
Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin.
The role involves high-quality face-to-face and/or online instruction for adult learning in an adjunct faculty role. The instructor will teach, monitor, and evaluate students in didactic courses and clinical settings at various sites. The faculty member is committed to academic excellence in all areas of teaching and learning including theory, laboratory, and clinical instruction. They must demonstrate success through instruction, collaboration with various stakeholders, and active engagement within the discipline.
The instructor is responsible for contributing to Ottawa's educational programming and academic integrity.
Ottawa University employs adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate/graduate level coursework for its adult campuses. Each location has an Academic Coordinator/Academic Dean dedicated to hiring for adjunct teaching responsibilities.

QualificationsRequired
Education:
For Kansas faculty:
Earned Doctorate or a master's degree in Nursing or related field. For Wisconsin faculty:
Earned Doctorate in Nursing or Earned Doctorate with earned master's degree in Nursing. For Arizona faculty: a) If providing didactic instruction, hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing. If the graduate degree is not in nursing, a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing; b) if providing clinical instruction only, a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing.
Required Experience:
For Kansas faculty:
Three years of academic and professional teaching experience within the teaching content. For Wisconsin faculty:
At least two years of experience of professional teaching experience within the teaching content. For Arizona faculty:
At least two years of experience as a registered nursing providing direct patient care for didactic faculty; if hold baccalaureate degree in nursing and providing clinical instruction only, a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.

List required and/or preferred certification, industry specific requirements, required or preferred use of equipment, and all necessary job skills, abilities, and knowledge competencies. Provide a list of items below:
- Kansas Faculty:
Hold current Kansas and Missouri licenses as registered nurse or multi-state license nursing license with eligibility to practice in both states. - Arizona Faculty:
Hold current Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona - Wisconsin Faculty:
Hold current Wisconsin registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Wisconsin - Experience with Blackboard or other similar online course platforms.
- Experience with Zoom, Skype, or Web Ex
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting must be able to lift 5-15 pounds at times.
- It may require the use of building stairs.
- It may require evening and/or weekend work.
- The position sits and works in front of a computer screen.
