Position Summary:

The Coil Technician A is responsible for fabricating, assembling, testing, and repairing electrical coils and related furnace components used in industrial equipment and power systems. This role performs coil winding, brazing, mechanical assembly, and hydraulic integration work while ensuring all products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with custom-engineered assemblies in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:

- Set up and operate coil winding equipment based on design specifications and production requirements

- Select and prepare copper tubing, wire, molds, fixtures, and related materials for fabrication

- Fabricate and assemble custom electrical coils using brazing, insulation, taping, varnishing, and finishing processes

- Mill copper ends and braze taps and conductors to specification

- Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and engineering drawings

- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure product quality

- Assemble, test, and inspect coils and furnace-related components

- Perform grouting, de-grouting, and regrouting on coils and furnace assemblies

- Install hydraulic tubing, cylinders, hoses, and related assemblies according to specifications

- Cut, crimp, solder, and leak-test water-cooled cables and hoses

- Conduct hydraulic and water testing to verify system functionality and integrity

- Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly and fit-up issues

- Support occasional off-site service or repair work as needed

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What you need to be successful:

- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or electromechanical assembly

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs

- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles

- Ability to use hand tool, power tools, and precision measuring instruments

- Forklift certifiable

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with brazing, coil winding, fabrication, or electrical assembly

- Experience with hydraulic or water-cooled systems
