Firmware Engineer
We are seeking a talented and driven Firmware Engineer with strong Python skills and a solid background in embedded systems. In this role, you will play a critical part in the development, verification, and validation of innovative, industry-leading products. Whether your expertise lies in firmware development or testing and validation, if you have experience with Python and embedded hardware, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and/or test embedded firmware for advanced electronic products.
- Create automated test scripts and test environments using Python.
- Perform verification and validation testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and unit testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
- Interpret schematics and component datasheets to understand hardware/firmware interaction.
- Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle including requirements review and defect tracking.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, PCBA design, or firmware testing.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python programming.
- Strong understanding of digital circuits, schematics, and embedded hardware interfaces.
- Proficient with lab instrumentation including oscilloscopes, DAQs, and logic analyzers.
- Exposure to National Instruments Test Stand and/or LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, C#, or C/C++.
- Experience using tools for configuration management, requirements tracking, and defect management.
- Exposure to Dev Ops methodologies and CI/CD systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with unit testing and structural testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with bare-metal firmware design.
- Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Travel:
Up to 10% (Domestic & International)
