Interim Controller

Vaco Atlanta is seeking an Interim Controller – SEC Reporting who is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, external financial reporting, SEC filings, internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements. This role leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring accurate and timely preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings for a public‑company environment.

This is a 3 month contract with hybrid flexibility!

• Prepare and review SEC filings including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and related disclosures
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and company accounting policies
• Coordinate preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures
• Audit Coordination:
  Coordinate the preparation of materials and information required for both internal and external audits, facilitating the periodic review of the company’s financial records and ensuring compliance with all applicable audit standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company or Big 4 audit experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
• Experience preparing SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Workiva, etc.)
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills

Pay Rate $75-100/hr
