Your New Role...Next Gen Voices at TNT Sports is a talent development initiative dedicated to amplifying the next generation of sports journalists and storytellers. Created in honor of Oscar Pope, a beloved TNT Sports Marketing Manager who championed emerging voices until his untimely passing in 2021, the program continues his legacy by empowering students with the tools, opportunities, and confidence to launch their careers in sports media.
Leveraging TNT Sports tentpole events, this immersive experience provides unparalleled access to TNT Sports’ productions for training and builds a pipeline of on‑air and editorial talent for future broadcasts.
- Assignment:
Each next-gen fellow does an on‑air report with
TNT Sports talent or a star athlete participating in the tentpole. - Mentorship:
Fellows are paired with
TNT sports talent who provide mentorship and help them prepare for their on‑air opportunity. Previous mentors include Ernie Johnson and Allie LaForce. These relationships flourish and continue beyond the fellowship period. - Production:
Fellows meet with game and studio producers, work with them to prepare on‑air reports and attend production meetings for both game and studio broadcasts. - Social Media:
Fellows are paired with a social producer to shadow on‑site to create a piece of content published on brand handles (@TNTSports
US @Bleacher Report, etc.)
- Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate communications, journalism, or broadcasting program at an accredited college or university.
- Candidates must have an interest and knowledge/experience with soccer.
