Job Summary

We're looking for a creative, innovative Bilingual Multiplatform Producer who wants to join an award-winning news team at Telemundo Atlanta. In this position, you'll produce lively, impactful daily morning newscasts and take an active role in creating social media and multiplatform content.

The bilingual producer understands the importance of urgent, digitally impactful coverage of what’s new in the city and state, now and next, as well as how to handle breaking news, weather, and traffic alerts.

The ideal candidate will report to the News Director and work closely with anchors to shape and execute high-impact story development and morning newscast production, build strong shows, and develop relationships throughout the growing Spanish-language community we serve in Atlanta.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Produce, write, edit, and organize Telemundo Atlanta’s new Spanish-language morning show.
  • Maintain working knowledge of current events, community issues, and local contacts in Georgia.
  • Search for wire services, network feeds, websites, and other sources to find relevant material for newscasts and the digital desk.
  • Work with the news management team to determine which stories to air and coordinate story assignments for anchors and MMJs.
  • Train, manage, and provide regular feedback to team members; inspire the entire team to produce strong, engaging multiplatform content.
  • Direct newsroom operations and review scripts for shows and newscasts.
  • Ensure story selection and placement fit our mission of providing the best local news coverage for our viewers.
  • Contribute ideas and work with other news managers on long-term projects, including special events and breaking news coverage.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in journalism, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in news-producing software (ENPS preferred).
  • Experience in editing software (e.g., Edius, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Native-level Spanish reading and writing.
  • Strong English-to-Spanish translation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated solid news judgment.
  • Strong journalistic ethics.
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Creativity and the ability to create compelling, memorable newscasts.
  • Ability to write and speak Spanish fluently.
  • 2+ years of experience producing newscasts.
  • Strong news research skills.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Valid driver's license.
