The Project Manager is responsible for leading complex operational and supply chain projects across Supply Chain and Ancillary Services, with accountability for project design, planning, execution, facilitation, implementation, change management, and sustainment. The role manages projects to defined scope, timeline, budget, quality, service, and operational performance expectations. This individual is responsible for working closely with clinical, operational, financial, technology, and vendor stakeholders.
The Project Manager develops project charters, workplans, governance structures, communication plans, risk and issue logs, and performance dashboards to support transparent decision-making and successful implementation. The Project Manager evaluates project outcomes, identifies lessons learned, supports standard work and adoption plans, and makes recommendations to Supply Chain and operational leadership to drive measurable, sustainable improvement. This role may provide functional direction, coaching, and work coordination for project coordinators, analysts, and cross‑functional project team members.
Job Description
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects, operational initiatives, process improvement efforts, or cross‑functional work streams in healthcare, supply chain, logistics, ancillary services, hospital operations, or a comparable complex service environment.
- Master’s degree in business administration, health administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations management, or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, Certified Healthcare Operations Professional, or equivalent project/process improvement certification
- Healthcare operations, supply chain, logistics, procedural services, ambulatory operations, pharmacy, laboratory, facilities, or ancillary services project experience
- Experience leading system‑level or multi‑site operational projects, technology implementations, workflow redesigns, new facility activations, or service expansion initiatives
- Experience with project governance, executive reporting, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and change adoption
- Experience providing functional direction, coaching, or supervision to project coordinators, analysts, or cross‑functional project team members
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
- No professional certifications required.
Skills And Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of project management practices, including project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource plans, risks/issues logs, governance routines, and status reporting
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Teams, SharePoint, or comparable platforms
- Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor operational metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and project benefit realization plans
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, processes, workflows, and systems to identify root causes, risks, opportunities, and measurable improvement actions
- Strong leadership, facilitation, relationship management, and influencing skills with the ability to align clinical, operational, finance, technology, and vendor stakeholders
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate project status, decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to frontline teams, managers, directors, and senior leaders
