Sales Associate

Overview

Five Below is looking for part-time Sales Associates who provide outstanding customer service while driving sales. The role is centered on engaging with customers, maintaining merchandise, and supporting store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Greet and assist customers promptly, acknowledge them, and provide assistance while managing multiple customers.
• Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions and, when possible, turn returns into exchanges.
• Communicate needs to management regarding merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Support team and company goals by collaborating with the team to achieve store objectives and maintain a positive work environment.

• At least 16 years old
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, handheld and mobile devices)
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

• Frequently operate cash register
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to 5-10 feet high
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock rooms and on the sales floor
• Frequently communicate with customers in person and by phone, as well as with managers and coworkers
• Frequently move across the sales floor to assist customers and transport merchandise from stock rooms
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts and travel as required
• Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for extended periods as needed
