CDL Construction Laborer- Class B- Tanker Endorsement; Dickerson & Bowen

Overview

Dickerson & Bowen has been paving the way for growth and development since 1947, providing aggregates, asphalt, and asphalt paving services throughout central and southern Mississippi. This Construction Laborer role supports asphalt paving and related construction activities across project sites, performing tasks such as site preparation, grading, paving support, traffic control, shoveling, and maintaining clean work areas.

Supports asphalt paving and related construction activities across Dickerson & Bowen project sites, collaborating with equipment operators and crew members to ensure efficient, high‑quality project execution.

• Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel using pick and shovel.
• Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
• Joins, wraps, and seals sections of pipe.
• Performs routine, non‑machine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, and placing culvert sections in trench.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

On‑the‑job training required.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL class
  
  B).
• Valid tanker endorsement.

• Follow specific directions.
• Perform duties that may often change while maintaining accuracy.
• Repeat short‑duration tasks according to a set procedure.
• Evaluate information using measurable standards.

Workers must be able to:

• Stand or walk for long periods.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and maintain vision (naturally or with correction).
