Rex Lumber, a fourth-generation, family-owned lumber manufacturer, is seeking experienced Maintenance Supervisors for our Brookhaven, Mississippi facility.

two positions available: one for night shift and one for weekend shift.

We're looking for hands-on leaders who understand industrial maintenance, know how to develop strong teams, and take pride in keeping equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating preventive maintenance and ensuring sawmill equipment operates safely and efficiently.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with production leadership to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

• Supervise, train and mentor maintenance technicians, millwrights and electricians.
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance for sawmill equipment, including saws, conveyors, kilns, planers and debarkers.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with production management to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance shutdowns, including personnel, contractors, parts and equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and parts inventories.
• Enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work, machine guarding and mobile equipment safety.
• Support maintenance budgets, vendor coordination and equipment improvement projects.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations after hours as needed.

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including motor controls and PLCs.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in sawmill, lumber or wood‑products manufacturing.
• Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or a related field.
