RN Inpatient Pre-Op

Overview

Hospital Wide Depts. under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. The nurse will rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility and function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.

• Coordinate total patient care and education for admitted and discharged patients across ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical floors, and telemetry floors.
• Document total care given, review and maintain patient charts per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate frequently with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, staff, physicians, administrators/assistants, peers, home health, hospital‑owned outpatient clinics, and all ancillary departments to promote teamwork and problem solving.
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.

• Valid RN license.
• Pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Ability to work and relate in a professional, non‑defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements (Health Stream) is required and the employee must arrange and attend sessions.
• Must be able to function independently within the department and organization.
