Registered Nurse – Warriors of the Night

Location:

Bristol Hospice, Brookhaven, MS

Employment Type:

Full-Time
Salary: $86,000.00 – $89,000.00 per year
Shift: Any

• Perform after‑hours and weekend visits and admissions as needed.
• Follow up on phone calls by directing them to the appropriate staff or taking care of the need immediately per scope of practice.
• Dispatch field nurses and other appropriate staff to patients’ residences in a timely manner.
• Re‑fill prescriptions, order supplies and durable medical equipment, and assist with any other coordination needed by patients and families.
• Document calls, conversations, and outcomes using call‑in software system.
• Receive start‑of‑shift report and provide end‑of‑shift report in accordance with location workflow.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Must be a registered nurse with knowledge of hospice; telephone triage preferred.
• Must hold a current, good‑standing license in the state of Mississippi.
• Must understand the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
• Must be flexible in work hours.
• Must demonstrate proficiency with computer data entry and use of software systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
• Must cope with stressful situations and interact with grieving families.
• Must demonstrate nursing skills as per the competency checklist.
• Must maintain comprehensive knowledge of information systems and applicable software programs.
• Must be willing to travel throughout the Bristol Hospice service area.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and stretch for prolonged periods.
