Provides professional nursing care to a designated patient population while coordinating and supervising the nursing team. Responsible for patient assessment, development and implementation of individualized plans of care, medication and treatment administration, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care in accordance with KDMC policies, procedures, and accepted standards of nursing practice.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Mississippi licensure to practice professional nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• ACLS and NRP certifications required within the first year of employment.

• Able to read and write the English language.
• Demonstrates proficiency in required skills as outlined on the competency checklist.
• Able to successfully pass a written pharmacology examination.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to use proper channels of communication.
• Able to remain calm and function effectively under stressful conditions.
• Demonstrates flexibility and cooperation in rotating shifts and/or duty areas.
• Promotes harmonious interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.
