TITLE:

Bus Aide

• A minimum of a high school diploma
• Previous job experience with children preferred
• Must have transportation to and from the bus stop
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the School Board

REPORTS TO:

Director of Transportation

JOB GOALS:
To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program

• Meets all professional conduct standards as set by MS Educator Code of Ethics Standards of Conduct
• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus
• Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus
• Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion
• Provides written records of violations of the student code to the transportation supervisor
• Collects and turns over to the Director of Transportation those personal items left on the bus by students
• Ensures the safety and good behavior on the bus of an individual student, if assigned to supervise
• Follow all board policies and procedures
• Maintain regular attendance and is punctual
• Promote the district’s vision, mission, and goals
• Perform any other duties as outlined by the Director of Transportation

JOB EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel

The employee is required to perform all related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator and/or supervisor. The Brookhaven School District reserves the right to revise this job description at any time.
