Skoog Operator
Pacific Wood Laminates is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Skoog Operator to join our Swing Shift production team. The primary function of this position is to safely operate Skoog machinery and repair veneer sheets to ensure products meet quality specifications and production standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to producing quality products, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Skoog machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Accurately identify veneer grades and ensure proper handling throughout the production process.
- Position and align veneer sheets on the machine table to repair defects including knots, holes, and pitch pockets.
- Monitor machine operation and the quality of repairs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain product specifications.
- Maintain consistent production quality while meeting department goals and expectations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs, quality concerns, and equipment issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality standards.
- Understanding of veneer grades and production processes preferred.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing, eye, hand, and foot protection.
