South Dakota State University and the Facilities and Services department are seeking a self‑motivated individual to join our Facilities and Services department as a Work Center Control Lead. This position oversees the Facilities and Services work order system, prioritizing and coordinating routine and emergency requests while ensuring compliance with university policies. It includes managing reception operations, delivering strong customer service, supporting staff and visitors, and handling Facilities & Services communications, including campus‑wide and emergency outage notifications.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Job Responsibilities- Prioritizes, monitors, and coordinates Facilities and Services workflow for both routine and emergency requests while applying University and departmental policies
- Provides excellent customer service and oversees reception operations for the Facilities and Services department
- Communicates Facilities and Services information to the campus community and supports smooth departmental interactions
- Assists staff, campus personnel, students, and the public by receiving visitors, directing inquiries, and providing administrative support

- Call‑center operations and service‑request workflows
- Experience using computers, including databases and spreadsheets
- Exercise independent judgment when evaluating situations and making decisions
- Communicate information clearly, concisely, and efficiently
- Interpret and uphold SDSU and Facilities & Services policies and practices
- Organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities and tasks
- Research, compile, and analyze data and prepare reports
- Demonstrate tact, patience, and discretion when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and temperaments
