The South Dakota Local Transportation Assistance Program (SDLTAP) is looking for a detail‑oriented and customer service minded Program Assistant I to help meet service priorities and act in an official capacity on behalf of the program.

SDState is the state’s largest, most comprehensive university with over $94 million annual research expenditures, more than 200 academic programs and an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students. The university is part of a dynamic community for families, students, young professionals, and retirees, which offers an abundance of attractions and activities. The SDLTAP keeps local government officials from around the state informed about new publications, techniques and training opportunities that may benefit their communities by translating the latest highway and bridge technology into understandable terms.

This program is the link between current and emerging transportation technology and local government across the State of South Dakota.

This position is located in Brookings, SD.

Responsibilities

In addition to general office support and management, this position coordinates training and disseminates technical information, develops and maintains content for online training, assists with managing program budget, maintains service record, coordinates and organizes events, and responds to inquiries that come into the program. This position will also independently implement work processes and help develop procedures for assigned work guided by program professionals.

This role is the primary SDSU contact for joint conferences put on by collaborating LTAP programs which includes registering attendees and collection of payment, coordinating the conference agenda with other programs, managing venue contracts, and providing real‑time support. This position will do all programming for conference registration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, Teams, and PowerPoint.
