District Administration Office – 8 hours per day, 216 days per school year – Starting at $21.32/hour – Position open until filled
Reports ToDirector of Academic Services
Qualifications- High School diploma and some post‑secondary education.
- Related experience with student management systems preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technology skills.
- Clerical and typing skills with emphasis on accuracy.
- Ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding district personnel and administrative business.
Provide support to end‑users for the student information system, Infinite Campus (IC), and other programs utilized by the district, by evaluating issues and offering solutions. Collaborate with student information system support staff and submit cases for program issues. Prepare customized reports for local school needs, provide administrative support in communicating with stakeholders using online tools, and act as the District’s registrar through the online registration process.
Physical RequirementsNormal duties are sedentary at the desk; bending, stretching, up and down in the office, mobility around the office, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Performance Responsibilities Student Information Systems (SIS)- Troubleshoot and resolve SMS questions from staff, students, and parents.
- Submit tickets and work with SMS companies to solve more serious program issues.
- Research and implement new applications that work with Infinite Campus, Canvas, and Clever.
- Attend training and relay information to staff on any system updates, best practices, and issues.
- Provide information, training, and support to school staff on the use of Infinite Campus, including scheduling, gradebook, report cards, reporting, data entry procedures, parent portal, ad‑hoc reporting, etc.
- Review security, set appropriate security settings, and update after each new system release/upgrade.
- Annual uploads of new staff and student information into databases.
- Annual Civil Rights Data Collection reporting (federal report).
- State and Federal Reporting – Know current state and federal reporting requirements, oversee reporting periods for the school district, run various reports, and check data to ensure accurate reporting and make sure all schools comply with reporting guidelines.
- End‑of‑the‑Year signoff with South Dakota Department Of Education – ensure all reports have been submitted by the deadline and the information is accurate.
- Work with third‑party vendors and their specifications to implement new programs.
- Produce various reports for district administrators as requested.
- Register new students using online registration. Answer questions and help families with the online process.
- Welcome new families to the district and community with packets prepared that include specific school and community information.
- Organize, set up and manage online registration for current students each fall and Kindergarten/Preschool Registration in the spring.
- Review and approve online enrollment applications.
- Set up all the new staff accounts in Infinite Campus with appropriate access.
- Welcome new staff to the district and provide training in Infinite Campus instruction during staff in‑services and continue to provide instruction opportunities throughout the school year.
- Customer service assistance and office coverage in the administration office area.
- Miscellaneous data entry and filing assistance as requested by district administrators.
- Other duties as assigned.
The work agreement will consist of 216 days.
Evaluation ProcedureThis position is subject to performance evaluation once a year by the Director of Academic Services.
