Mills Construction, Inc. (MCI) in Brookings, SD is currently offering a full-time position for a Construction Superintendent
JOB TYPE: Full Time
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
POSITION LOCATION: Brookings, SD – with projects within a 75-mile radius
Mills Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial projects in Brookings and within a 75-mile radius. This is a hands‑on leadership role—our Superintendents work alongside crews, lead by example, and take ownership of project success.

- Oversee all day-to-day jobsite operations
- Work alongside crews as needed (toolbelt on)
- Lead and support field crew
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections
- Ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Maintain and enforce safety standards
- Communicate with Project Managers, Owners, and team members
- Identify and resolve issues to keep projects moving
- 6+ years of construction experience
- 3+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of commercial, wood, and steel construction
- Proven leadership and team coordination skills
- Ability to read plans and manage schedules
- Salaried position (based on experience)
