The Construction & Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) Department in the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering (COE) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) invites applications for a temporary Program Recruiter of the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12‑month full‑time, benefits‑eligible, temporary position with the opportunity to potentially become permanent after the duration of one year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESObjective:
To increase undergraduate enrollment in the South Dakota State University Concrete Industry Management program and support the CIM program Director with teaching needs.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing effective recruitment plans focused on enrollment of undergraduate students in the CIM program over an 11-state region.
- Building effective, positive relations with external stakeholders which may include K-12 professionals (especially high school teachers and counselors), universities and colleges, government officials and private businesses.
- Building effective collaborations with the COE regional outreach coordinator, departments, and other university offices, especially the Admissions Office.
- Developing and implementing effective communication to reach new audiences using social media platforms including managing the CIM web page.
- Developing and managing program‑specific marketing and communications strategies in collaboration with other COE departments, University Marketing and Communications, and Admissions Office.
- Supporting the CIM Program Director in the management of pre‑college programs, including but not limited to, K‑12 classroom visits, camps, workshops, and seminars.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data relevant to student recruitment and outreach.
- Representing the CIM program on and off campus for promotional, marketing, and outreach initiatives.
- Working with the CIM Program Director for students travel to conferences and field trips, including scheduling which events to attend and by whom, making transportation and lodging arrangements, coordinating with the other programs for CIM booth staffing and accompanying students to events if the Program Director is unable to attend.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by the CIM Program Director. The duties could include planning and coordinating events like the Patrons golf tournament and the National Steering Committee’s campus visits.
- Teach one or two undergraduate level online courses related to CIM program per semester, as assigned by the CIM Program Director. The courses will be assigned based on the selected individual’s qualifications and experience, and the needs of the program.
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, starting at $60,873.
