South Dakota State University is currently seeking a Program and Tribal Relations Coordinator. In this position you will help support student success and be a collaborative team player. This position is located in Brookings , South Dakota. This position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Develop and coordinate programming that supports student success,belonging, and engagement, with a focus on strengtheningrelationships with Tribal Nations and advancing institutionalsupport for Indigenous students, staff, and faculty.

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, American Indian and Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences to include Psychology, or Sociology, History, Training and Development, Curriculum Design ora related field completed by start date
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 daysof hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Experiential knowledge of tribal language, culture, andlifeways
  • Experience working with tribal communities
  • Demonstrated experience in program management or program evaluation
