The Project Engineer Assistant will act as the right hand of the lead Project Manager, performing engineering work using standard engineering practices, helping to keep projects within budget and on schedule. The role provides management support, technical solutions and cost estimates to support facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work as part of the construction project team to ensure that project plans are followed as directed by the Senior responsible Engineer.
- Participate in daily safety briefings.
- Contribute to daily/weekly/monthly project timeline updates.
- Assist Senior Engineer in verifying work completed against drawings.
- Fill in for the Senior Engineer as needed to guide project completion and success.
- Maintain on‑site presence daily.
- Interact with General Contractor, subcontractor crews to achieve success and a safe work environment.
- Lead/assist special projects as needed or defined by the Senior Engineer.
- Organize follow‑up meetings, prepare minutes, progress reports and dashboards.
- Monitor on‑site progress, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Follow up with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Track performance indicators.
- Manage project documentation and archives.
- Contribute to equipment commissioning and installation validation.
- Safely analyze and design project improvement opportunities aligned with Bel’s values.
- Take ownership of projects from pre‑planning through execution, quantifying and presenting options.
- Participate in the design of installations and project supervision, including written proposals, cost and deadline management.
- Hold contractors accountable for scope, policies and procedures of the plant.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, safety rules, food and environmental procedures, and sanitation protocols.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (preferred). GPA 3.0 or higher.
- Desire to work in the food industry and willingness to transition to a Bel factory position after construction projects.
- At least 5 years of project management experience (highly encouraged); 2–3 years of site construction supervision or industrial coordination is a plus.
- Strong budgeting skills using MS Excel.
- Strong MS Office computer skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring devices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, SAP, PLC programming ladder logic is a huge plus.

- Work location:
office and manufacturing environments, 40+ hours per week, with variation due to special projects. - Physical requirements:
