Energy Systems Engineer

Position:
Energy Systems Engineer at South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. 12‑month, full‑time, benefit‑eligible role.

• Instrumental in conserving the university’s energy usage through the development, design, management, and coordination of construction and renovation projects affecting energy conservation.
• Provide support to the Engineering Shop in utilities management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field completed by start date.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and results‑oriented.
• Computer experience with Microsoft E-mail, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of building HVAC systems.

• Knowledge or experience in project management.
