Job Description
The Loan Operations Specialist performs a wide variety of activities in the daily processing of loan transactions for First Bank & Trust and works closely with lending staff, including loan officers and processors.
Qualifications- A high school diploma, one year of education beyond high school, and two years of relevant experience or the equivalent are required.
- Knowledge of bank loan and accounting procedures is preferred.
- Perform shared loan operations responsibilities, including:
Complete loan accounting activities for loans across the organization, which may include input of new loans, funding of new loans, loan payments, wire transfers, advances, loan extensions, loan file maintenance, and system-generated reports and related processing tasks. - Respond to customer loan inquiries and work with contacts at other institutions related to: loan participations, payments, and taxes.
- Balance all loan totals to the general ledger daily and resolve discrepancies according to established procedures.
- Work unposted loan transactions daily and correct any errors.
- Enter and balance loan participation activity while adhering to legal lending limits.
- Run automated workflow processes.
- Perform review and verification processes for loan maintenance, automated workflows, loan uploads, and balancing.
- Assist with training new team members, answering department questions, and completing assigned projects.
- Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
- Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in compliance training when required.
