Provide strategic, operational, and managerial leadership over the IT department to ensure reliability, security, and effectiveness of the organizations Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems and services. Responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and management of innovative projects that utilize technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programs, policies, and services. Responsible for the design and implementation of cybersecurity programs and technologies that protect against threats while supporting business objectives.
TYPICALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, directs, and oversees the work efforts of IT personnel including hiring, training, promoting, disciplining or terminating employees.
- Plans, recommends, and directs the acquisition, installation, expansion, security, and operation of all aspects of the IT function, including network infrastructure, servers, end user hardware/software, backup and recovery, IT help desk, building audio/video equipment and other business-related technology systems.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute short and long-term IT/OT strategic plans, including evaluating current and emerging technologies, architecting and prioritizing system integrations, and leading enterprise technology initiatives that support organizational objectives.
- Provides functional leadership to IT personnel in the development and delivery of strategic programs related to cybersecurity, system reliability, data analytics, innovation, and service delivery. Ensures continuous process improvement and effectiveness of security, compliance, and reporting controls.
- Oversees and coordinates business continuity, disaster recovery, physical security, and cyber resiliency planning to ensure the availability and integrity of critical systems.
- Plans, recommends, and directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT/OT cybersecurity policies, procedures and standards to manage risk and ensure regulatory and organizational compliance.
- Directs IT governance practices, including technology standards, documentation, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to ensure IT systems deliver value, manage risk, and support operational accountability.
- Plans and manages the IT departmental budget, including forecasting technology investments, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-effective solutions that align with organizational priorities.
- Plans, recommends, and directs the use of internal and external resources, including vendor relationships, contracts, and outsourced services, to ensure effective and secure delivery of IT services.
- Oversees project management activities such as planning, management, reporting and risk identification for technology projects.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to IT leadership team and staff.
- Responsible for maintaining effective communication and relations with other employees.

- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or other related field with fifteen years of directly related experience; with a minimum of ten years’ experience leading a similar department. Demonstrated experience in innovative management, project management, supporting a multi-user, multi-functional data management system or any such combination of education, experience, and training may be considered. Prefer security systems certification(s).
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and judgment skills in the analysis of data, policies, practices, and operational issues.
