Residence Hall Cleaning Technician – Brookings, SD

Purpose:

Drive customer satisfaction and business growth by excelling in the high-quality and timely completion of routine maintenance cleaning. The primary focus of this position is the maintenance and sanitation of shared, non-private spaces in university dormitories and general campus buildings.

• Perform daily maintenance cleaning of designated college campus common areas, including but not limited to: student lounges, lobbies, study areas, hallways, stairwells, community bathrooms, and common kitchenettes in dormitory buildings.
• Tasks include dusting, vacuuming, wet-mopping, removing trash, scrubbing, and sanitizing communal bathrooms, and cleaning shared breakrooms.
• Interact professionally and positively with college students, faculty, and campus staff.
• Work quickly and effectively to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents and visitors.
• Complete all required tasks accurately and consistently according to the campus schedule and standards.

• Reliable Attendance is essential for scheduled shifts.
• Skills in workmanship and attention to detail in high-traffic environments.
• Work quickly and move from one task to another.
• Work independently and exhibit strong problem-solving, decision-making, and judgment skills.

• High School Graduate or GED Required.
• Ability to pass a background check including MVR Required.

• Ability to bend, climb or balance, kneel, stoop, walk, or push and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs., to perform job functions.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, conditions, and temperatures.
