Start wage $50,000 per hour with a $3 hourly differential for facility work and a $1.50 to $2.50 shift differential. Varying shifts available; inquire at interview.

• Under limited supervision of a Nursing Director/Associate or Nurse Supervisor, provide professional nursing care for ill, injured, or disabled inmates.
• Provide clinical direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and direct care staff.
• Perform direct patient nursing care and treatment within the scope of licensure in a correctional setting.
• Perform patient care in a clinic or hospital setting, administer medications, transcribe and carry out doctors orders, assess patients using protocols, triage, and assist in moving patients.

• Current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a RN in Nebraska.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Completion of four to eight weeks of on‑the‑job training.
• Background security check.
• Pass a pre‑employment medical examination and a drug test.
• Successful completion of the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Pre‑service Training Program.
• Preferred experience in assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others.
