Guest Advocate Responsibilities- Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:
- Greet:
- 10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave
- 4ft: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction
- Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience
- End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
- Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
- Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events. Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet.
- Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application, sign-up, and signing in as needed.
- Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
- Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use these features.
- Attempt every return or exchange and follow register prompts; partner with immediate leaders as needed to help solve issues for the guest while following Target’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, clutter free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal.
- Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive‑up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
- All other duties based on business needs.

- You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times).
Skills and Qualifications
- Communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to guests needs
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
- Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks
- Willing to educate guests and engage around products and services
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- Work both independently and with a team
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive‑Up, carryout, etc.
