The Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based at Brookings Auto Mall in Brookings, SD. This role is responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle needs, and guiding them through the selection of new and pre-owned vehicles. Day-to-day tasks include conducting test drives, presenting vehicle features and benefits, preparing price quotes, and explaining financing and warranty options in a clear and transparent manner.
The Sales Consultant will maintain ongoing communication with prospective and existing customers, follow up on leads, and use the dealership’s tools and systems to manage the sales process from initial contact through delivery. This role also involves collaborating with service, parts, and collision center teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated skills in Sales Consulting and Consulting, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate vehicle solutions.
- Strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction focus, with a commitment to building long-term relationships and delivering a positive buying experience.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to explain product and financing information in an accessible manner.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort using dealership CRM systems and online tools to manage leads and sales activities.
- Ability to work on-site, including evenings and weekends as needed, and to stand, walk, and participate in test drives throughout the workday.
- Prior automotive sales or retail sales experience is beneficial but not required; a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or sales training is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
