Temple Ohabei Shalom (TOS), a vibrant Reform Jewish congregation in Brookline's Coolodge Corner, seeks a warm, organized, and highly capable Program & Events Coordinator to support the life of our community. This role is central to the planning and execution of Shabbat gatherings, holidays, life-cycle events, community programs, and space rentals. Reporting to the Director of Operations & Engagement, the Program & Events Coordinator serves as the primary point person for event logistics and on-site coordination, working closely with clergy, staff, volunteers, vendors, and congregants to ensure welcoming, meaningful, and well‑run experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating Temple programs, holidays, and community events
- Supporting life‑cycle events (B’nei Mitzvah, weddings, funerals, baby namings)
- Serving as on‑site lead for programs, events and rentals
- Managing space rentals and cultivating new rental opportunities
- Supporting operational systems and process improvements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A service‑oriented, warm, and professional demeanor
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, people‑centered environment
- Familiarity with Jewish life and synagogue culture
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
