The Brookline Recreation department is seeking qualified, energetic, and compassionate candidates for the 2026 summer camp season. Previous experience with camp programming or previous counselor experience is preferred. Hourly rates are based on camp position. The Summer Camp program will run from July 6, 2026 to August 14, 2026 at three elementary schools in Brookline, Ma.
Staff is required to attend 3 days of mandatory training during the week of June 30 - July 2 with specific schedules to be determined. Below is a brief description of the open positions. All candidates will go through a background check through the Criminal and Sexual offender database as required by the Town of Brookline health department.
HEAD COUNSELOR- Schedule: July 6, 2026 to August 14, 2026; M-F: 8:15am to 4:00pm
- Pay Rate: $19 per hour
- Requirements: Must be minimum 18 years’ old
- General Responsibilities: Primary caregiver for each camper in the assigned group. Manage/Supervise and train Counselors, CITs. Direct, supervise and organize campers throughout daily activities. Be responsible for the welfare of each individual in the group and do all possible to resolve problems. Will take part in swim lessons with campers.
