Job DescriptionThe Public Schools of Brookline seek an art teacher for the Extended School Year program during the summer of 2026.
The art teacher will lead three or four, 45 minute art classes per day for students in grades k-8, including students with significant learning needs or fine motor difficulties. Students may have anywhere from one to four hours per week to complete a project.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and leading daily art classes that coincide with the school’s “theme of the week”
- Ensuring art projects are accessible to students of varied ages and abilities
- Sourcing materials for the projects
- Prep and clean up of art space each morning and afternoon
Creativity, flexibility, and experience working with children are a must.
Preferred but not required:
Art teacher training or license
