We are a community where every family is valued and where student successes are recognized and celebrated by everyone. At Torah Academy, education is about more than just academics. It's also about fostering Jewish pride, love for learning, and sensitivity to others.
And mostly it's about our students knowing that they, as individuals, matter.
- Create a warm, caring, and safe environment Students are at the heart of what we do. When they know that they are cared for, students come ready to learn. This includes building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.
- Create and implement lesson plans You will be responsible for teaching up to 4 periods of PE (depending on your availability) to all girls classes in grades 1-6. Your creativity will shine in the activities you plan to engage students.
- Monitor and communicate student progress Provide feedback to students and their families on academic, social, and behavioral progress. Maintain appropriate records. Create two-way communication channels with families so they are updated on their child's progress.
- Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School.
- You have prior successful experience teaching middle school math.
- You have a strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction.
- You are passionate about educating children.
- You are creative and think outside the box when it comes to challenging young minds.
- Location: Torah Academy is located in Brookline/Brighton, Massachusetts.
- Hours: Up to 4 hours weekly, exact dates and times are flexible based on your schedule.
- Salary: $6,000-$7,000, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Continuous learning and professional development, growth, and advancement opportunities for staff. Small class sizes, close-knit community, early release on Fridays, and time off for national and Jewish holidays.
