Position: Part-time (2 days/week) Early Childhood Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description

The Early Childhood Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, fluency and social communication difficulties in children ages three to five. This position also serves students with more involved learning profiles including students with complex medical needs, students on the autism spectrum, students with hearing loss, and students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.

The SLP collaborates with families, educators, and other professionals to support children's communication development and readiness for school.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum
  • Experience working in early childhood settings
  • Excellent knowledge of child development
  • Strong ability to collaborate with different teams across multiple sites to meet student needs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to adapt services to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage the caseload
Job Responsibilities
  • Providing individual and small group speech and language therapy to students with this service on their IEPs
  • Consultation to general education and special education staff regarding student needs and best practices
  • Completing and presenting speech and language assessments at IEP meetings
  • Monitoring student progress through the collection of data
  • Completing IEPs and progress reports and attending IEP annual review meetings
  • Regular parent communication
  • Designing and implementing inclusion interventions and instruction focused on fostering all students' communication skills
  • Other responsibilities as designated by the Early Childhood Principal or the Director of Special Education
Required Qualifications
  • Must have current MA DESE licensure in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders

This position is two days per week and may involve travel between school sites.
