Responsibilities
Create a warm, caring, and safe environment Students are at the heart of what we do. When they know that they are cared for, students come ready to learn. This includes building nurturing relationships with students and providing age‑appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.
Create and implement lesson plans You will be responsible for teaching 8th grade English Language Arts to all male classes. We have curriculum materials for reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing, and you are welcome and encouraged to bring your passions to the classroom. Your creativity will shine in the activities you plan to engage student interest in the content.
Monitor and communicate student progress Provide feedback to students and their families on academic, social, and behavioral progress. Maintain appropriate records. Create two‑way communication channels with families so they are updated on their child’s progress.
Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School.
Qualifications- Prior successful middle school teaching experience (in a Jewish environment is preferred).
- Strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction.
- Passionate about educating children.
- Creative and think outside the box when it comes to challenging young minds.
Location: Torah Academy is located in Brookline/Brighton, Massachusetts.
Hours: Part‑time 1:45‑5:00 p.m.; early release on Fridays and the day before a Jewish holiday.
Salary: $ per course.
