Building Paraprofessional

Description:

The Public Schools of Brookline seeks qualified candidates for the position of Building Aide at Lawrence School. This is a full-time, 37.5 hr./wk., and 188-day/year paraprofessional position. Job duties include:

• Provide a welcoming presence in main office and school.
• Maintain confidentiality of faculty, staff, students and families.
• Assist School Secretary with all office functions, including, but not limited to: reporting and maintaining attendance system, answering phones, greeting and supporting parents, students and visitors in the office, copying and monitoring of copiers, managing student records and scheduling building use.
• Supervise student recess and lunches daily.
• Supervise arrival and dismissal daily.
• Provide supervision and support of classrooms as needed, filling in when staff are out for both meeting coverage purposes and, when needed, as a "guest" teacher, or for absent paraprofessionals - usually for an hour or two, covering their schedules.
