Description

Our client, a well-established educational organization in the Brookline area, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will support tuition billing and receivables, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, and comfortable communicating with families, faculty, and staff both over the phone and via email.

Key Responsibilities

+ Manage accounts receivable, tuition billing, collections, and payment tracking

+ Perform reconciliations across revenue and receivable accounts

+ Assist with monthly financial close and preparation of financial reports

+ Support reconciliations for donations, grants, pledges, and other revenue activity

+ Reconcile bank, investment, and related accounts

+ Work closely with families and internal stakeholders to resolve billing questions and payment issues

+ Assist with financial aid tracking, reporting, and related administrative processes

+ Participate in ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 1-2+ years of accounting or finance experience

+ Prior experience in a school, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization is a plus

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

+ Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems required

+

Experience with Quick Books or Veracross is a plus
