VCA Brookline Animal is seeking an experienced client service representative to join our well established hospital and team. We are a six doctor, fast paced general medicine practice located in the heart of Brookline, a mile from downtown Boston. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine, patient care, and customer service. Applicant must be a reliable self-starter, motivated by a challenging, fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude, a friendly demeanor towards both animals and people, will be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and can demonstrate the importance and understanding of high quality customer service.
Skills and Qualifications- Excellent knowledge of veterinary client service; at least 2 years of experience in the veterinary field.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong client relations and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate to expert computer skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter and team player.
- The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
- Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions.
- Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Customer service functions, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
- Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
- Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
- Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
- Triaging phone calls.
- Understanding and entering vaccine information.
Wage: 21.00– 24.00 depending on experience.
