Assistant Manager – Wellesley (OPEN, March 2026)

Location: Brookline/Wellesley, MA

Job Description:

Tiny Hanger, a charming and beloved children's clothing boutique in the Boston area, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Manager to join our team. We pride ourselves on offering a carefully curated selection of high‑quality children's apparel and accessories and Jelly Cat toys, along with exceptional customer service. As Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store's operations, driving sales, and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.

• Lead by example, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring all customers have a positive shopping experience.
• Help train and coach sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
• Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and styling.
• Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Manage web orders with Manager.

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, loss prevention and inventory management.
• Ensure the store is visually appealing and well‑maintained, adhering to merchandising standards.
• Assist with receiving and processing new merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
• Work with other locations to coordinate merchandise is appropriately stocked.
• Collaborate with the buying team to ensure the store's merchandise assortment meets customer needs and reflects current trends.
• Implement effective visual merchandising displays to showcase products and drive sales.
• Assist team with local marketing initiatives and merchandise to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic. Assist with all events including outreach, production, day‑of event tasks for events such as Jelly Cat launches, Silhouettes, Book readings and assist with creation of new events.
• Assist Manager with visual merchandising of all products including ensuring Jelly Cats are fully stocked and look pleasing to customers; be on top of trends and merchandise to promote best sellers. Assist with Jelly Cat reorders.

• Support the Store Manager in scheduling and supervising sales associates.
• Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to sales associates in conjunction with the Manager.

• Retail
  
  Experience:
  
  Prior experience in retail management or a supervisory role, preferably in a children's boutique or similar setting.
• Passion for Children's Fashion: A genuine interest in children's clothing and Jelly Cats.
