  • Hours: 40 hours a week – 10-month contract

Job Description

Special Education EAs are student-based instructional and behavioral supports for students receiving special education services in both the general education and special education settings.

Instructional Support

  • Mentor, coach, and inspire students to be engaged in classroom assignments
  • Reinforce and review concepts and skills. Assist students in activities initiated by the classroom teacher.
  • Carry out the instructional program as planned by the teacher
  • Monitor and check student work
  • Gather/track data as requested
  • Assist small groups or individual students as requested
  • Support SPED students – individually and/or within groups

Organizational Support

  • Before and After school duties including, but not limited to bus loading/unloading, arrival and dismissal assistance, monitoring students in transition between programs
  • Hallway monitoring and ensuring students follow the RHINO Way
  • Support operational and academic staff during special events
  • Materials support as needed including but not limited to producing materials, setting up activities, collecting/distributing work to students

Behavior Management Support

  • Be a positive influence on all staff and students
  • Observe and chart data as requested
  • Circulate classrooms/areas with students to provide support as needed
